Terms of Service

These terms cover your use of the Mindex desktop app and this website. Mindex is operated by AAV Advisory Services LLC (mkr. Vostok-5, dom 17, kv. 58, Sverdlovskiy rayon, Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan). Mindex is free to download and use. It is proprietary software — you get a personal licence to use the app; the source code is not publicly released.

1. The software

Mindex is a desktop app that helps you write and organize notes and work with an AI agent over a local Markdown vault. It is free to download and use. You may install and use Mindex for personal and commercial work; you may not resell, redistribute, or decompile it.

2. Account

Mindex asks you to sign in with Google so the app has an identity for you; that account stores only a minimal profile and never your notes. You run the app on your own machine, and your vault stays local (see the Privacy Policy).

3. Your content

You own your notes. They are stored locally on your device; we claim no rights to them and never receive them. When you invoke AI features, the content you include is processed by Anthropic (via your own Claude) to produce the output you requested. AI output may be inaccurate — review it before relying on it.

4. This website

If you subscribe to the newsletter, your email is stored via Supabase to send updates. The site uses PostHog analytics after you accept cookies. Use of these is also subject to those providers’ terms.

5. Payments & subscriptions

The app is free. Some features are part of an optional paid Advanced subscription, billed on a recurring basis through Paddle, our merchant of record, which handles applicable taxes. You can cancel anytime; cancellation stops future charges and access continues to the end of the paid period. Refunds are governed by our Refund Policy.

6. Disclaimer & liability

The software and website are provided “as is”, without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect or consequential damages arising from your use of Mindex.

7. Changes

We may update these terms; material changes will be reflected by the “last updated” date above.
