Download a build for macOS, Windows or Linux, or build from source.

Builds are not yet signed with an Apple certificate. macOS will refuse the first launch. Right-click the app, choose Open, then Open again — it asks once, then never again for that build.
If it fails with something stronger than a warning, see macOS refuses to open it.
Run the installer. SmartScreen may warn that the publisher is unrecognised; choose More info, then Run anyway.
The .AppImage needs no installation — mark it executable and run it. The
.deb installs with your package manager.
Mindex checks for updates on its own and installs them when you agree. There is nothing to configure and no channel to pick.
